I am not about to convince you that you need another coat. We live in England, so you probably already own three that you’ve worn this week. But there’s one specific style I keep stopping for mid-scroll, and after seeing it everywhere over the past couple of days, I thought it deserved its own moment. I’m talking about coloured faux-fur coats. Now, stay with me here. Faux fur has been firmly back for a while now, but it’s mostly stayed in very safe territory colourwise, in black and maybe brown, for the adventurous.

But all of a sudden, I’m clocking faux fur in the most joyful shades, like purple, bright blue and even yellow, and they’re in every iteration you can think of. Short jackets worn with jeans and trainers, full-length coats that basically replace an outfit and even classic wool coats finished with bold fur trims. It feels like the fashion crowd is leaning into a more playful kind of winter dressing, one where the coat does the heavy lifting. And the best part? This is actually a very easy way to wear colour, even if your wardrobe is usually black, grey and beige (like mine).
