Trust me, I’m always one of the last ones standing when it comes to wearing my wool coat for as long as possible each winter. Though, at a certain point—usually in January or February—the frigidness reaches a level that feels unbearable. With the coldest months coming in just a few days, there’s something comforting about wearing a coat that makes you feel like you’re wrapped, almost shielded, in a sleeping bag.

To say I’ve spent a lot of time researching how to stay warm in the winter would be an understatement. As someone who hates being cold—I’m always the first to say “I’m freezing!” and regularly daydream about spending winters anywhere but New York—I’ve been determined to figure out how to dress for the East Coast weather.
