If there was ever any doubt, Matthieu Blazy settled it at Chanel’s latest Métiers d’Art show, when he sent the first look—a beige quarter-zip jumper with a crisp white T-shirt underneath and perfectly loose jeans—down that NYC subway platform. So simple, yet so utterly cool.

For years, knitwear has revolved around roll necks, crew necks and even V-necks. The quarter zip is like their fresher younger sibling. So, it’s no surprise this silhouette is already on track to become one of the most coveted knitwear pieces of the season, across both high end and high street collections.
