In 2026, These Two Bag Charm Trends Will Be Everywhere

We have certainly reached peak Labubu. Months after the little monster went viral for being the bag charm of 2025, the fashion set seemed a little exhausted. Adorning designer bags with not-so-serious charms with a childlike aesthetic felt like a statement; a way to make luxury not so stuffy. But suddenly, after trending for over a year, it felt a bit overdone.

Bags were getting drowned in keychains and there was a never ending call to buy more and more and more. What felt like an anti-luxury statement suddenly became very expensive. The idea that throwing quirky charms on an expensive bag showed you didn’t really care was no longer true. If anything, it showed you were really trying to keep up with the trends. The look lost its sense of nonchalance.

The bag charm movement was certainly a reaction to the quite luxury and minimalism that had taken over fashion. But now that things are feeling more maximalist, wearing a bag with a handful of cute charms can feel far too over-the-top. That being said, in 2026, bag charms won’t disappear but they will look very different.
